our story

A small studio in Medan

mimistitch started at a kitchen table in Medan with a needle, some yarn, and no plan beyond finishing one piece. Every piece is still made one at a time, with no printing and no machines, so each one carries a small trace of the hand that made it.

The craft changes with the piece. The patterns keep coming back to North Sumatra.

    Stitched into cloth by hand, a thread at a time.

  • Crochet

    One hook, worked round by round from a magic ring.

  • Knitting

    Two needles, loop through loop, row by row.
